"I have been fortunate enough to own my own business and be my own boss. However, anyone can tell you I am many things before I am business man. I'm an experienced and knowledgable exercise scientist and athlete with a passion for improving people's overall well being through physical excellence. I believe simple measured human movement with an infinitely scalable progression is the path to that physical excellence. CrossFit provides the tools necessary for obtaining physical excellence by way of a supportive community, well structured physically demanding task oriented workouts and a superior level of instruction focused on a balance of safety, motivation and most of all... Fun. At CrossFit Explode we don't judge our success by numbers in a bank account. We judge success by our athlete's performance numbers on a whiteboard. The standard of success is set by the those who know which numbers truly matter to count."

Ty has loved being active since he was a little kid. He would always be running around outside, jumping off of anything he could manage; climbing trees and walking on his hands. Throughout grade school, he never seriously played or pursued any sport. Instead, he was a band geek! Fourth grade through high school graduation, he was an active snare drummer in the drum line. Music was and still is one of his passions. However, Ty never lost his love for physical activities, but his experience with them was limited to playing games outside with friends and acting like an idiot (his mother would say). He never did any traditional weight lifting and was never a member of any globo gym. He tried a few home workout dvds but still yearned for something more.
Ty was exposed to CrossFit through a friend of a friend. Once he tried it, he new this was what he has been looking for and he was finally able to give his passion for human movement a name. His first workout was in September 2010 and he has been doing it ever since. In July 2011, he received his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification. Ty's favorite quality about CrossFit is the community. He loves the people that participate and enjoys when new members come in. If there is one thing that Ty would say to someone who was unsure about CrossFit, it would be that "Anybody can do it!"

At a ripe young age, fitness was the last thing on Sean's mind, yet it came as second nature. Born and bred in the lush forests of Connecticut, Sean spent a majority of his youth navigating treacherous terrain, ascending towering trees, scaling cliff faces, and maneuvering river rapids to name a few. Sean's earthly upbringing was put on hold when he decided to join the military after high school. There he spent 7 years serving all over the world. His fitness morphed from a once functional forest regime in to a mundane system of lifting weights in a mirror. When his military obligations were complete, he still yearned to encompass what he once had. Soon there after he discovered Crossfit. It brought him back to that primal state from which he was forged and the rest is history. He then grew a facial forest (beard) of his own as tribute to his woodland friends and the flourishing habitat from where he once came.

Eddie grew up playing sports, focusing on baseball. As he moved into middle school and high school competition, he became more interested in off-season workouts. During his sophomore year in 2013, his English teacher and former coach at Explode introduced him to Crossfit and Eddie loved it right away.
In addition to Crossfit training, Eddie has been exposed to lots of life coaching, which plays a large part in his everyday life and carries over to Crossfit. He also competed at regionals on the Explode team in 2015.
“Crossfit has played a huge part in making me more confident and bringing me out of my shell and I am so grateful for that. I love my Explode family and all the friends I have made. My favorite thing about Crossfit is seeing people make positive changes in their lives and have the same great experiences I have had.”

Abby began her CrossFit journey in a cold, abandoned mushroom house in Kennett Square, PA, in January of 2013, and has been hooked ever since. Prior to CrossFit, her athletic background was primarily in swimming, lacrosse, and endurance training. She swam competitively year round from age 5 to age 20. She also competed in several sprint triathlons & took up running in college to complete the Delaware Marathon in 2012. To balance out her love for CrossFit & weightlifting, she also has a love for Yoga and has completed the 200Hr Yoga Teacher Training program.
Abby's true passion is to help others in any way she can. Her life motto revolves around fun, fitness, health, & happiness. Along with fitness, she has a love for food and cooking, which she has pursued at West Chester University. She hopes to use her nutritional knowledge to help others learn how to properly fuel their bodies, love being healthy & stay healthy. Abby also has hopes to spread her love for fitness & health to the youth. She has been coaching and working with kids since she was 15 years old, and hopes to help to continue to positivity influence youth in our community.
What Abby loves most about CrossFit is her ability to really dig deep into her true passion. "I have worked as a coach of various sports for over a decade. So naturally, when I fell in love with CrossFit, I felt the need to share my passion with others. CrossFit is unlike anything I have ever been a part of: it is the true definition of a community. I want to play my part in the community as best I can. I am hoping to help others become the best versions of themselves, and to instill in them a lifelong love of fitness & health."
As a senior in high school, Jordan was riding home from a lacrosse game, when her coach announced that her husband would be holding a workout class for the lacrosse girls on Saturday if anyone was interested. This vague “class” was none other than Crossfit. When leaving after her first time, after the wall balls and Burpees, she was hooked. She soon fell in love with the gym and the familiar chalk buckets that lined the floors. Jordan grew up in a gymnastics gym, where discipline and attention to detail was expected. Where pointing your toes was the difference between first and second place in an event. This attention to detail correlated with the skills in the Crossfit gym as technique is imperative for functional movements.
Jordan moved to West Chester in fall of 2012 to pursue her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at West Chester University. She soon became an avid morning work outer, where she brought a smile and energy to the gym that made it feel like it was twelve o’clock in the afternoon. Through her persistence, constant curiosity and attention to detail, she pursued her Level 1 Certification in August 2014 in hopes to help others realize their potential. Today, you’ll find Jordan in the gym at all times of the day ready to welcome you, encourage you, and talk your ear off.
